Well, most of it anyway. We’re not quite live on the app store yet, although we have submitted for approval. It’s my first iPhone app (co-created it with Adam Wulf and Benjamin Sherman) and I’m thrilled and nervous beyond explanation.

This site was conceptualized, designed and implemented pretty much within one weekend. It’s not as perfect as I’d like it to be, but I had to get it out there before Apple approved us! Turns out it’s taking them longer than we’d hoped.

Serious serious kudos to Sebastiaan de With, who is a master icon designer; not merely due to his illustration skills– which he obviously has– but more so due to his creativity with metaphors. He’s been a pleasure to work with. More on this on a later post.

There’s something different about creating an application and putting it in a store, even a virtual one, versus launching a web application. The business plan feels more solid, the roadmap is better laid out, the marketing is much easier, the design is more guided. It’s been a phenomenal learning experience all around.

I’m hoping Here, File File does well; it’s an elegant solution to a common problem. It seems like success is based on marketing from here on out, and that’s something I’m learning as I go.
